Best advise is to just do it. Once you try it once and realized how easy the falls are youll want to go wake to wake with it. Keep your egde to the top of the wake and pop first. Also, you dont need a super hard cut into the wake. Just steady with that progresive edge. I think you're overthinking it. I do this a lot. Youll be good to go after that first attempt.

I typically load the line pretty hard when I do my normal wake to wake jumps. The only differnce I see from the video on load that I don't currently do is have a more straight up stance when loading the line. I normally have a good seated position when loading the line. The gf complains about how much I pull the boat on my loads. I am 230 lbs with a lot of upper body strength. I feel like I can do the one wake backroll attempt easier than I can do the air backroll. I am going to try a couple of load and releases though to see if I get some air off of it before I try anything though.

the only thing I can say about your seated approach is that you typically land how you take off .... and I will say that it's something you will want to correct on this particular trick I had to learn the hard way when I kneed myself in the face and sent my teeth threw my lip... needless to say I was scared of the back roll for a long time until I went back and learned it the correct way with the tall position

I typically leave the wake with pretty straight legs. I actually was having a problem last year with landing on my wake to wake jumps with my legs straight. I have since corrected that. I feel confident I can keep my legs pretty straight during the attempt. I am probably going to buy a mouth guard this Friday before I go out. I have been debating it for a month now just cause of all the horror stories I hear.

I've been working on these too. I generally slow the boat down by about 2-3 mph to lessen the impact if a fall and pull the rope in 5 feet. This makes the wake similar to where I normally ride, just slower. I always take a couple straight airs with a good progressive edge first to make sure I have the pop right, then I go for it. After the first few I tried, I started landing on my board or close to it, but I never manage to keep the handle. At this point I think it's more in my head than an actual issue with the trick. For the record, the falls on this really never hurt, but maybe I got lucky.
