Do let us know what the dealer says. I am curious to see what they find.

I will for sure. I know that are kinda backed up with service request this time of year. So it might be a few days.

Strange thing is once we got it pumped out and headed to the trailer I ran it pretty hard and the bilge came on like it should with the water going toward the rear of the boat. Once I got in the no wake zone I idled for a good 10 mins and it was dry as a bone by the engine and did not take on any more water. That made me think it was definitely something with the ballast.

From what you are describing, sounds exactly like a quick connect popped off a ballast bag.

I hope it is something that easy. That does scare me though. Is that something you guys have seen happen before?

Had a quick connect come off on my rear 750. We had started filling and when we got the vests/rope out I noticed one of the bags was empty and the other was 1/2 full. I dropped a tsunami pump in (with bilge pump going) and fixed the quick connect.

I try and make it a habit to check the bilge every time we stop to get things ready just to be sure. Hopefully it was something like this in your situation.

Where did you pick up your tsunami from? What model? This is something I definitely want to keep on the boat from now on.

Last year same thing happened to my dealer had my boat in trying to fix the defective sumo bags. First time out just me And my kids I start filling the ballast and my youngest son's takes a set as I come around to pick him up boat won't plane. My other son put in the center plug so I open bilge hatch and it is filled with water. I think he left the plug out, he didn't. I immediately start dumping ballast and think we sinking. I found where the dealership forgot to hook up the front drain hose on my left rear bag so as I was filling the bag I was filling the boat instead of the hard tank. 30-45 minutes later she was pumped out. Dealer got a call at 630am on a Saturday morning. To explain my feelings about the situation.

Just a regular $99 tsunami pump. We sell them at boardstop.com all the time.

If you popped a fitting off the bag it still should be off. I would pull up the bags and just see if one of those fittings pulled out of a bag.

You said one locker was full but the other locker wasn't ? I didn't think the lockers where water tight, deff sounds ballast related. note to everyone if your bilge light comes on stop and do a visual ... better safe then sorry

Yes I was standing the right locker and the water was at least 1/2 up my shin. I could not see any visible water in the left locker.

His body weight probably listed the most and the water flowed to that side.

I have a 13 a22 that I bought a few months ago. This exact same thing happened to me. We was filling ballast getting ready to surf, had a few extra people on board. we was looking at surf deck and thought man this is gonna be a good wake. By the time someone got ready to surf the boat would not get above 5mph had cruise set at 9.4. Then started hearing a squealing noise so opened up the engine compartment and the engine bay was full of water. Got to checking out bags and they where empty. The quick connect had came apart (which it does every time we use the boat). But on top of that the opposite bag the threaded part came out of the bag. we bilged for nearly 2 hours, hooked everything back up and continued to surf. This happens every time we go to the lake now. Its a ritual to fill bags, surf for a minute, bilge out all water hook quick connect back up and screw threaded piece back in, then start playing. This axis is nice but, between the ballast system, the front 2 cushions melting down, 2 wet sound xs-650 rgb speakers in the bow not working, the wet sound sub never working, Deck trac peeling up, chilax seats never want to go back down with out a fight, plus having to buy a $700 prop to actually get a good surf wake. I would have been better off keeping my 03 crownline and getting a new prop.

If you've owned several boats you know that bilge pumps can fail and most likely will fail when you need it most. While the $99 Tsunami pump is decent I'd rather have a much more powerful pump like the small Ronix Eight.3 pump as a back up bilge.
