Whoever is doing the QC or in charge of QC for Axis seriously needs to take their job more serious or be replaced...PERIOD!!! My custom ordered A24 was delivered with at least 25-30% of the hull side gel coat rough and unpolished and/or buffed, my bow seat side cushions and back rest cushions were WAAAAAY off in being spaced apart evenly, 4 of my interior LED's grommets were torn with LED poking out all the way or part of the way, my amp rack wasn't just slightly crooked...it was practically sideways. Last, my boat was delivered without the Z5 I had ordered. My dealer Texas Malibu, thank God, is amazing in every way. They made all fixes in just a few days to my 100% satisfaction. My dealer contacted Axis to find out why the Z5 wasn't delivered and come to find out it wasn't even ordered by the factory for Z5 to build it. Something about the crew who worked on my boat assumed the other guy ordered it and never communicated with each other. Took 3 weeks but the Z5 was delivered.

Knowing these are price point boats (sort of) Malibu may reduce overhead cost by using less experienced technicians with less oversight. So far no issues that compromise the use of the boat but I have less respect for the Axis line.

I have done 2 factory tours since August of last year. Axis boats are built side by side with the same techs as the malibu boats. I was really impressed with there overall production of the boats. Granted with the demand going up for the axis brand they have uped production and that has probably affected some of the quality. And let's face it everyone is human and we all make mistakes and so far from everything that o have read malibu tries to make it right if a boat left that wasn't perfect. Myself included. Everyone should be proud that these boats are still made right here in the USA! Employing hard working people! I've seen em! I'm proud to have them built in my home state!

Here is my boat with the quality control person doing the inspection before the lake test.

If you look close. .. over the qc's head Between the windshield... You will see one of the daily meetings that go on with each department head. I am sure they know about all the issues going on. They care.
