I have had great success with my 2010 a22 with 11.0mph wedge up front mid and 1100lb goofy side all full. Also very easy for me to remember.

my setup is 1100s in the rear center tank full 950 3/4 full wedge up on goofy side... 10.8-11.0 mph. We have about 200# of gear we move around depending on passengers. Sweet Wake!

I think it would be a good idea to include your board when posting your surf set up. Skim, surf, big o' compisite beginner boards all ride differently and require different speeds.

2012 a20 with front as full as it can get without pushing the seats up, rear 750 full and wedge down. 10.8 on a phase 5 oogle makes a big wave with alot of push. Takes atleast 1 or 2 people on the surf side to clean the wave up. I'm looking for a sack to put under the open bottom seat for those days it's just my wife and son in the boat

Its a skim style board just doesn't seem like anything I do gets any push. It's a hyperlite broadcast board.

HUM - I use the same setup for a 4'6" phase5 (skim), LF 4"10" thruster (surf), and 5'3" CWB Ride (bus). Maybe thats my problem...

I ride faster, like 11.6-11.8mph on my Shred Stixx Thresher. It's a surf style foam core board that's fast and very buoyant. I have an Inland Surfer Squirt that's a composite skim board and I slow the speed down to 11mph for a taller wave with more push.

I will be trying a new setup for the 4th of July week, got a couple extra sacs for the boat 350lbs each. I will run my normal setup 750 in the rear bow sac full and add the extra to the bow surf side and on rear seat 12mph we will see how it works.

Everyone is focused on ballast but gear and crew weight can though that all off. I find that how the boat is sitting in the water at rest is a more consistent measure. When you find a good setup, checkout how the water is sitting on the swim deck. I find that if more than 3/4 (left to right) of the swim-deck is underwater there is not enough weight in the bow. I can almost get my rub rail in the surf corner to touch the water when full. Make sense?

At rest I still almost have a foot till rub rail hits water that is with 950 in surf side plus 3 average people on surf side and front 950 full.
I don't understand what is meant when u say the swim deck is 3/4 left to right
