Absolutely you can still spin. Depending on the setup the fins will help with drive or down the line speed. If your board has down the line speed then airs are potentially easier/better (technique is the key though...gotta practice your ollie) and you stay in the pocket easier or pump the board to get back in the pocket when you are about to lose the wave. I haven't dialed in my A22 wake enough to have the push, pocket, and shape to do airs but I just stared to do airs behind my friend's MB.

I've just started to learn airs this past yr with the board by brother made me. He lives in Cali and shapes regular surf boards. I asked him to shape me a surf style wakesurf board with the specs I provided. He killed it his first go. Carbon fiber rails, channeled tail with a quad set up. I usually ride a skim style but after riding his custom made I now prefer the surf style bc of the speed and air potential. I'm still dialing my wave in as well but I agree with AJ, the fins make a huge difference.

I love to surf. I don't do much crazy, but the kids love it. The A22 loves weight in the nose on the surf side.

I've got the rear full + 750 bag, center full and an older 550 under the seat behind the driver. It only fills maybe 1/2-2/3s under the seat. If I don't have a lot of ppl onboard I'll put it on top. I throw two 50lb LeadWake bags under the drivers feet as well. I use to fill my front PnP bag but my driver(s) kept taking water over the bow. I noticed the wave got a lot taller without the PnP but the pocket got a little shorter. I increased my speed to lengthen the pocket which is when airs started to become a lot easier. I've learned speed is crucial for getting any air under the board and that extra mph is all it took.

I agree with the speed. We ride anywhere between 11-11.8mph depending on rider.

True, but without the wedge you can go slower than 11. Depending on load, we can get better push at 10.4-10.6

(we all ride goofy, so not sure about the other side)

I've personally never had luck without the wedge. Maybe I just to experiment with different ballast setup because I have setup my ballast normally WITH the wedge then I tried it WITHOUT with the same ballast and the wave got worse.

My setup seems to ride better without the wedge as well but I'd be open to trying it again.

I think we were riding the wedge up on goofy side and wedge down for regular to make the best wave.
