Jeez. I was thinking upgrading to a 2014 after next summer. Hell I don't know if I'm going to be able to afford it if they keep rising.

I'll keep my cat free boat, I know they serve a good purpose but I'm not a fan of big brother telling me what my boat has to be equipped with.

Agreed on the big brother sucks, but I doubt CATs would exist at all otherwise. I REALLY like the reduced CO for my 5YO surfing. Id gladly pay to upgrade mine to CATs if it was possible. My neighbor died on his swim-deck - 35YO neurosurgeon. For the 1st week they suspected a heart attack, I didnt eat meat. Once the autopsy determined CO poising I felt better, but my wife almost made me sell the boat for one with CATs. Scary stuff. New studies indicate the frequent CO exposure reduces IQ. We put ~200 hours/year on our boat and all anyone wants to do anymore is surf.

Sorry to hear that. That's exactly why I installed the Fresh Air Exhaust on my boat. I've got two kids surfing behind it, soon to be one more. The cost was worth the piece of mind for me.

I just don't get some of the prices. Who needs a wedge indicator when it's auto-set? How much does the gauge add??
That engine is an option just above the 335 standard.

There are a few things I like about the newer models but I'm content with what I have, and if I ever do start surfing I'll just get the FAE

FWIW, cats control unburned hydrocarbons, they have nothing to do with CO. CO is just a function of temperature. As CO cools down, it converts to CO2, and drops out carbon (soot). If you heat up CO2, it'll convert to CO.

That said, scary stuff. I haven't ever thought about the FAE, but I've got young kids, all with asthmatic issues.
