I'm running two: the starting battery that came with it and an Optima along with onboard charger. My system isn't huge though. Syn6 and Syn4 running 6- SW-650 inboats, 2x Pro-485s on the tower and a XS-12. The Optima holds up well.

Running 3 interstate batteries; One group 24 starter and two srm-29's for the stereo. I'm running 4 amps ~ 3300 watts RMS;

I'm running 2: the starter and a group 24 from costco for the stereo. My stereo is not big, arc 300.4 alpine m50 and the stock mtx amp running 2 rev8s alpine type s 12 and the stock 6 mtx in-boats. The single stereo battery is not cutting it. I have had the stereo shut off a few times bc it ran out of juice.

I'm running 4 batteries total. Three Interstate SRM-29 and one Interstate group 24 for starting. I'm using four JL amps so overall RMS is not high (2200 watts)...just clean power. I also have interior RGB LEDs and two Abyss underwater LEDs. I charge the stereo bank with a Promariner onboard charger and the starting battery I use a small Ctek onboard charger. I do float a couple/few hours each time out (plus underwater LEDs) and I don't want to deplete my batteries to the point of over working my boat's charging system so that's why I got the third stereo battery. I never want to depend on my alternator to charge my batteries and having the 3 stereo batteries will insure that my voltage level will be in a safe range. If you plan on going big with a stereo system or you're going to be the party cove boat then you might want to look at two 6 volt golf cart batteries like Trojan. You can two 6 volt Trojans and have over 500 amp hours.

You are running a wet cell battery (factory starting battery) with an AGM battery (stereo)?

question. when you run it like this, obviously the small battery is used to start the boat and the other two for the stereo when you're floating, but what battery is selected when you're cruising and wakeboarding and slamming the stereo.

It's an Optima Yellow Top that I had from my old boat. Should I not?
