Hello, I have a 2009 Axis A22 without the ski pylon and I was thinking where I should attach the rope for ski and tubing.
I found this interesting topic on Malibu Crew
http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/ind ... tube-rope/

Do you guys have any suggestions?
-Transform bar
-transport eye
-tower
????
Thanks

I attach mine to the bar on the back of the boat. I have read too many horror stories about towers being damaged.

The handle on the back just above the swim deck works great.

Why not attach it to the tower? Says you can do it in the manual.

Found on 2-16

I like to attach my tube rope to my friend's boat.... frees up my boat for more exciting things!

I have a little one, so I end up towing one around but I'm fortunate enough to have the ski pylon. Attaching to the tower, in theory, is fine but it removes the whole whip effect that makes tubing good. I haven't heard any horror stories about it though.

Hahaha I like the last guys comment

Malibu engineer just called and said "Stop useing your boats to pull tubers!!!"

Lol!

Mine doesn't have a pylon so I use the grab handle on the rear transom, I can't force myself to pull a tube from the tower and risk stress cracks on the mounting surface, too paranoid with a new boat, on a side note my last boat was a Glastron gx225 and I towed 4 tubes from the transom grab handle and never had a problem but the aftermarket tower did make stress cracks in the glass and it was reinforced under the glass with 2x4's and glass and resin.

yeah that last comment was great

Is it really possible to cause damage to the tower/boat by attaching the tube to the tower ? what kinda weight difference is there between a tube and a wakeboarder? obviously i know the difference between like 4 people on a tube and a single wakeboarder, is there any hard facts/data to support/dismiss any of the attachment points in question?

I saw an malibu illusion tower snapped in 3 places form a tube at my local dealer - Malibu replaced it under warranty. I have also seen the welds of an aluminum tower broken from tubing. The problem is when the rider falls and the tube flips. It can easily scoop a 1000 of pounds of water
