Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a used 2016 Axis T23. The engine had low compression on two cylinders and the dealer replaced it with a Jasper re-manufactured engine as part of the deal. We did a water test about a month ago. We picked up the boat for good on Monday (4/12). On Tuesday we put the boat in the water and tooled around for about 3 hours just breaking in the motor. We tested all the systems and everything worked as it should. I parked the boat for the afternoon and went back out in the evening to go cruise around after work. However, the boat would not start and threw a "No ECM Data" in the gauge.
So here are some symptoms thus far:
- Turn key to ignition, "No ECM Data" (Hour meter = 0.0, all gauges function properly)
- Boat will not turn over at all, I can't hear/tell if the fuel pump is running
- Radio, blower, accessories function fine
- Batteries are new
Troubleshooting So far:
- Kill Switch on Right side below dash, cycled several times // No changes
- Use battery 1, battery 2, and 1+2 // No resolve/change
- Disconnect batteries for 10 minutes, reconnect // No change
- Remove engine cover, check all fuses on ECM // No bad fuses
- Switch two identical relays on ECM fuse box // No change
- Disconnect / Reconnect ECM cable // No change
What else can I do to troubleshoot this issue? I don't like the idea of taking the boat out with the family and having this issue arise. I'd like the confidence of assuring the issue is resolved. At this point I assume it's either bad cabling, a bad ECM, ECM not getting power, or ...? Obviously I left my volt meter at home on the work bench
.
Does anyone have other suggestions or troubleshooting advice? Thank you in advance.
