Hi,
I just purchased a 2012 Axis A20 from my buddy. (
) I will need to lower the tower to fit in my garage each winter (boat sits on a lift during the summer) and to get under a low bridge each time I get onto the lake.
When attempting to lower the tower, I found that the hoop hits the cushion in front of the engine compartment. As a result, the side supports (which I found, somewhat counterintuitively, collapse on the outside of the hoop and cannot be made to collapse in front of the hoop) are not able to close down very far (they project ~1.5 feet above the windshield). In order to get the boat into the garage, I had to completely unbolt and remove the side supports to get the total height of the boat low enough to fit in my garage.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to fully collapse the tower without having to remove the side supports?
Thanks in advance
Spencer
