Wake surf speed in river how to adjust up and down river.

This might seem like a dumb question but if i am wake surfing in a river that flows maybe 5mph.. going up river should i be adjusting the speed for a better wake. or ballast?

I realize the speed is GPS but if the boat is going 10.5 up river and water flowing at 5 down should i slow down ??

Also going down river...

you can switch it to use the paddle wheel, which will give you your speed, relative to the moving water.

GPS is worthless in a current. Paddle Wheel is all I ever run.

Funny part is so many people are pro gps.. thankfully my dealer talked me out of it knowing I mainly run in a river with a decent current. Extra gas money I guess

if you run in the river do you have a paddle and the original gps? wondering what is the difference in speed ?

Yes you have both. If you get gps you still have paddle wheel.

How do you switch from gps to paddle wheel? Is it simple or a long term switch?

Should be a switch box under the dash. Mine is tucked up under there (on a '15 t22)
