Anyone have any tips here? I just purchased a new T23 and I noticed when you go to lay the tower down it sits on the two folded in axis support arms. It seems like this will put to much pressure on the two hinges supports and cause damage. What have you guys found that works other than hanging a rope from the ceiling to hold it up?

Thanks!

I used a 2x4 and cut it in a V at one end so the round tower fits in it. wrapped it in a towel so it doesn’t scratch it and set the tower on that.

I used an old trailer bunk all the way across the back. Carpet was decent but where the bolts go was rotten. Figured it would be good to keep and it was laying around. So I threw it under there. Works great, but now I don't need to fold my tower every time.

I have been dropping my tower with a pair of Rev10s on it for the past 16 months. I have a 16 A20 that stays in my garage. Where the tower rests on the arms is very close to the actual hinge base so there actually isn't a lot if pressure on the arms. I triple fold a micro fiber towel and place it between the tower and arm so it's not metal on metal. The tower arms and tower still go together perfectly just like day 1. I know some people have asked the dealer for the notched 2×4 tower stand that came with the boat during shipping.

So do you guys have any pics by chance? Do you run the 2x4 like 8ft for instance all the way across the boat to sit evenly on each side? Since I have to let it up and down each time I park it will be a pain untill I get it down pat. Also noticed the cover doesn't fit around me the tower when it's lowered.

Steve, glad to hear there has. It been any damage. On mine it appears the tower will rest on the arms about half way down and you can see them kind of flex when you put the weight of the tower on it. In the end that how the manual says to do it so if there ever was damage I assume it would be covered.

My A20 came with a telescoping prop thing to hold the tower up. Sorry for the bad photos but you can click through these to see it.

I don't think some realize the difficulty there. ha I did it for 6 months until we raised the roof height on our lift. I'm 6'3 and workout fairly often but it's till a serious push to get it up there.

I did it for years (and yes, heavy as hell with 2 410s... took two of us)... 2x4 cut to length and a 2' x 3' piece of 3/4" plywood for the base to distribute the load across the floor... I never rested the tower on the support brackets.

Raised the roof on my garage 5 feet and now have 12' doors... GAME CHANGER.

I would love a rod like that. You say it came with your boat? Is it an Axis piece or something aftermarket the dealer got for you?

I have to lay my tower down with the support arms flipped out to allow the tower to lay lower than the windshield. The windshield clears my garage door opening by about 1/2". The board racks rest on the grab handles. Actually only one side rests on it, the other side is above the grab handle by just a little bit. If I know I'm not moving the boat for more than a few days I put the factory support it shipped with under the tower. It's not ideal though because I have to move the rear seat out of the way and get the base of the support under the deckadence flooring, place the support, then push the seat back against it so it won't slide out because it sits at an angle. Hard to picture I image but lets just st say it's not the best solution. I've thought about hanging some sort of hook from the ceiling and hooking the tower up while it's parked in there but that probably wouldn't as simple as I imagine it either.

It's a 2016 A20. It came with the boat, I just found it up under the seats by the batteries. It's definitely not what they used for shipping, it's not sturdy enough for that, just for storage/parking. I have a 10' ceiling in my garage and the tower won't fold up (too tall). I also drove some lag screw/eye bolts up there (into the trusses, not just the sheetrock!) and occasionally strap the tower up (after the boat is parked of course). I did that when doing a full detail and also when winterizing. It helps not having to climb over the folded tower. Home depot sells some velcro straps with carabiners attached that actually list their supported weights; they worked out perfectly. I put 2 eye bolts and use 2 straps; don't really trust one; would hate for the tower to fall and damage the boat or my head.
