Have you seen the deal Mastercraft is offering? The NXT 22 is $66,800 ON A TRAILER with most options. Gen 2 surf, pickle fork, Better interior. They will swap out a galvanized trailer for 700 bucks and install a flush kit for 5 and now it's a saltwater boat. So for 68 grand I can get a brand new MC with a 5 year warranty. Can you even come close to that with an A22 Saltwater series? I really want an AXIS but they're making it harder for guys like me to justify the cost. Somebody tell me why I should still buy an AXIS? The world is upside down when you choose MC over AXIS because of cost.

Is this the price your local dealer is quoting you?

Also see thread on axis and nxt 22.

Get off the forums and go to a few of your local dealers, price multiple boats and maybe demo them then make your own choice. I think mastercrafts are ugly as hell imo, have you looked at supreme, mb or anything else or just forum reviews as you have another thread on here about buying as well.

LOL. First off you should probably check the pricing, as it doesn't include freight and prep which usually adds a couple thousand. Secondly, it's not really a good looking boat or tower, but that's subjective. Lastly, it's a smaller boat! 98" beam vs 102" beam, get in them and you'll notice the difference.

I like most MC's, just not the NXT line.

I also like the majority of MC's boats. The NXT lost me on the tower (looks like a Titan tower from 2005), the transom and platform lines are awful, the wake/wave will not be better than the A22. I like the idea of the device that's helps reverse the boat but I'm so used to driving v-drives I wouldn't see any real benefit. I'm not a fan of the freeboard of the NXT

I would price them out the door with all the options you want. I debated very long between the nxt and the axis brands. When I priced them out, the a22 was a couple grand less than the nxt20 when all said and done. A lot of MC's options are more than Axis, the heater was $400 difference between the 2 (970 vs 569)

I've had time to think and after reading your guys' posts, I came to a realization. Both boats have their pluses and minuses. But in the end, when I look at the two? The Axis is just way better looking. Shallow I know, but the truth.

I believe he is referencing a pricing list that MC pushed on its dealers for 4 boats. Prostar listed at 60k, NXT20 at 60k, NXT Global at 63k and NXT22 at 67k. Mastercraft has it on their website referenced as wintersales. I saw the pricing list at my boat show in Milwaukee as well. The price includes trailer, zero off, surf package, and a variety of other options. As mentioned above you have to add freight, dealer prep and taxes.

I certainly applaud MC on pushing out a price that, according to people on the MC forum, appears to be a good deal compared to recent sales. I think the same of Malibu's new 21' VLX.

That said, I'll never understand why anyone would pay 60 - 67 for an NXT. It appears to be well built, respected engine, and has a nice warranty. Other than that, I don't see a lot going for that line. Cheapest looking tower anywhere, not the premier wake/wave in its class, 91" beam on the 20, lots of exposed gel where padded vinyl should be, etc. My impression always will be that people only buy that boat because they are convinced they need a MC. If you need to have a MC and your budget is 60 to 70k I cant imagine why you wouldn't go used.

I didn't pay attention at the boat show. What did people see at the show for a decently equipped A20/22 or T22/23?

I'll bite on that one, if your budget is 60-70k used for a Mastercraft you're going to hit a few scenarios. You're gonna end up in the 2009-2011 range of which there is very limited availability or in a 2012 which numerous issues with the Medallion system that I'm not willing to risk. Especially now in 2017 that it's out of warranty. Most everything 2013+ and lower hours is still in the 70s and higher and you get the satisfaction and peace of mind of a 5 year warranty. I personally like the look of the NXT 22 on the water. It has a very nice bow rise to keep people dry, and doesn't dip much when slowing down heavily weighted.

Secondly the 2017 NXT 22 has the widest interior beam of all the MC's and it's quite roomy inside. I liked the open gel coat because you can swap out the interior speakers for 8"s fairly easily. I also didn't mind the tower one bit after they re-did the bimini. I have to lower my tower every time I store my boat and on my Axis that means crawling into the boat each time. On the NXT tower you can raise and lower it from the trailer which saves a ton of time.
