The time has come to order my second axis(previously owned a 2012 A20) and I am looking for input on what accessories you thought were must haves and what could have been left out. Currently I'm torn between going metallic vs solid color. maybe it's just a popular option right now idk. Does anyone have the GL cover? Is it more like an evolution so it holds up to the outdoor elements better? What prop has worked best for a weighted down boat with the 6.0L? Dealer said to go with the 2313. My dealer is telling me the biggest rear bags I can run are 750s, Seems everyone is running the wakemaker 825s I believe or sumo 900s? I would prefer the biggest bags that fit. We pretty much only surf now and having a young family was our main reason to upgrade. I have scheduled an appointment with my dealer the end of October to place my order! I will give a list of my must have options I have so far....

2017 T23- torque 2313 prop, heater, sound pack 3, Bimini, 2nd tracking fin, spinner board racks, dual battery, 3 pair pull up cleats, surf gate w/band, wedge.

I have a 16' T23 my opinion is buy an OJ 945 prop it's the best I've ever ran. I run 1100 rear bags but they are discontinued but you can get 1000's instead they should fill about the same. Your gonna want extra bow weight I run 100lbs of lead and a 400 sac in the front walkway. I love the Z5 Bimini I'm on my 3rd one with my boats. I also feel you don't need the 2nd Fin I've run the same boat with one and could tell no difference with my use. You will love sound pack 3.

My friend just bought a 17 T23 and it's running the stock 2249 prop, he said with all the bags full (800 rears+bow sac) he gets on plane without issue. He said it's not as torquey as the Acme 2773 when he has his 16 A22 w/350 but it does fine, plus he has plenty of top end. Based on that I'd think with the 6.0+new tranny you wouldn't need to run anything like the 945 or Acme equivalent unless you were at higher elevation. It's overkill on power and you lose too much top end.

My 16 T23 came with only 1 tracking fin and I had them add another one on later and I could tell a definite difference for bigger riders/people that cut really hard in terms of tracking and I can also turn much tighter than I was able too before. Plus it's also one more big slab of metal to break up any debris before it hits your prop/rudder.

I'll also throw in that I really wish I had the trailer transom steps on mine, makes it so much easier to get in and out of the boat on land, especially girls.

Also flake it out! Flake is always in! When that water hits it, you'll thank yourself.

Thanks for the replies! We are between the black and green brochure boat or swapping the green for that bright blue flake! We are really excited to get a new boat. I ended up selling mine in july.
I can not justify the z5 at this time. I have been on boats with them but it really is the price tag that has me holding off.

I forgot all about the longer trailer on this boat and that step didn't come standard. I'm making a list so I'll have to add that for when I go to order.

I am also doing the carpet delete so I'll have seadek throughout the boat and maybe use that in place of the deck trac kit too?

Has anyone had the extra docking lights or other little things added. The few times we are out late I thought they would have been nice but I may just add a small led light bar that should give off enough light for docking and cruising back at night.

I also have a T23 on order with the spray date being tomorrow. I recommend that you spend a little more cash on the docking and transom lights so that you don't end up with a blank cover on your dash. You may not use them much, but for around $500 (invoice), it's probably worth it. Unless you don't mind this:

Steps are money for sure. We did the deckadence flooring and love it.

And I say do the blue flake! Every time we go out people are coming up to us and complementing the boat. Its killer on the water!

I need to get some real pictures; but here are a couple crappy iphone pics:

The deck trac SUCKS! At a invoice price of around $550 it is a total ripoff, mine was peeling around the edges the day I picked up my boat and only got worse as the summer went on and now it is a sore subject with Malibu and I as they want to super glue the edges and call that good. My advice get the lights and order gator step after you get it home and metallic all the way

I have a new in box deck track kit that I can't get rid of and I refuse to put it on my boat. The dealer ordered it with it and Malibu didn't put it on and shipped it to me later on.

I think I'm going with gatorstep as well.

I run sumo 900's in my A24. I miss swivel board racks so I'd say that's a must. I also see these trailers with steps. I think it would be convenient to have, especially since they've moved the swim platform up a touch higher for surf wave help.
