Hello everyone. I've been looking at the 2016 A22's and wanted to ask everyone on here for your thoughts and suggestions on that model. I love to surf..hence the name. A friend of mine has an A24 & he gave me some pulls this past weekend & HOLYSH*T the push. I'm now hooked. The local dealer only has a few A22's & one T23. One of the A22's has the color scheme I want so that's why I'm more interested in the A22. I know the surf pipe is a must. What about adding fatsacs to the PnP system & how much & where. Anything & everything.....let me hear it please. So I'll be happy from the start & get it like I need & want it... without it having to be a "project".

Thanks!

IMO a surf pipe is not a must u less you don't want to hear the boat.. my 15 has zero odor or sign of carbon monoxide and we commonly surf for 8 hours in a day. PNP is a must IMO whether it's dealer installed or you do it but it's simple and relatively cheap to do. Honestly these boats don't need much outside of PNP to be an absolute blast on the lake (I'm assuming it has the upgraded stereo if not to me that is a must).

Surf pipe is preference but not a must. It does cut down noise by a bit but a few have complained about a slight rattle and a few about slight spray. If you want to do it right, get the T23 and forget the rest. I have an A24 and I slam it with all kinds of weight and sometimes just modestly load it down. Yes it has a good wave with push. However, I've been in 2 different T23's and it's too easy to weight and the size and shape of the wave beats the A24. The A22 is no comparison against the T23 wave. Reinforce the rear lockers, throw in some 1000 or 1100lb sacks in there, and a bow sack...too easy.

You will not be disappointed with a T23 ...we couldn't have picked a better boat for surfing !

I have an Older A22 and surf 99.9% of the time. My next boat (if I stay with Axis) will be a T23 with pnp 1000 sumo sacs in the lockers and horse shoe pnp in bow. That being said if I ordered a new boat I would only order stock tanks and do the pnp myself with additional pumps.

Surf pipe for me is not a must and would not check that box of ordering new.

I've surfed a 2014 A24, Surfed alot behind a T22, I bought the T23
Go T23 for surf - 1100's PnP throw a 750 in your walkway
I have the surf pipe and love it had FAE on my Nautique - cuts down on noise, don't ever smell any exhaust, I went with the 450 hp engine, a number of boats I was behind with the larger engines would have steam issues on colder mornings clouding the wave - its very annoying the FAE or surf pipe solves this problem so IMO if you go the big engine get the surf pipe.

The only other consideration is mooring or storage - I would still lean to the T23 - but demo both
good luck

Thanks for the all the input everyone. I really appreciate it. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and I can get some pulls behind an A22 and a T23. I'm looking forward to it.

Would also be intrested in what you choose. I've been going back and forth between Axis T23/A24 and MB B52 23'.
We are getting ready to move to the east coast and the nearest MB dealer is 5 hrs vs 20 minutes for Axis....

That should be your determining factor right there. Your boat is only as good as your dealer, cause if your boat breaks and you can't get it to the dealer, you don't have a boat.
