So I just bought a axis t22. 2016. Has the second level speaker/radio system. All factory installed. Speakers up front, cabin area and on tower.

I have been messing with the radio and I can't seem to get it play the tower speakers the same as the speakers that are throught the boat.(front/cabin).

If the tower speakers are on they are very loud compared with the rest of the boat. I can't seem to figure out how to adjust them so the speakers play a similar volume lever or close to the same as the main/cabin.

It also has a "zone 2" that if I turn on, the tower speakers turn off completely and the main speakers(front/cabin) all worked much better and get a lot louder....

The manual sucks says. Worthless unless of course you want to change the background on the kicker face.

Thanks. Marc

I don't have a factory setup but it sounds like you need to turn down the gain on the towers. I will say I bought the exile ZLD and it is the best stereo thing I have installed to date. It allows you to adjust the volume on the towers, interior speakers and sub independently on the dash.

The way the manual reads, 2nd source you can control volume independently. I haven't figure that out yet. I do think the factory sets the towers higher just for pulling. On Past experience, I agree with r33pwrd. Adjust the gains. The exile or ws420 may be the next addition for me. '16 t23

I have the stereo 3 package but I think they are set up the same. On mine if you push the knob one it will show the main volume, twice it will allow you to adjust the volume of the cabin speakers only, three times will control the tower speakers. It does say what is being controlled but the screen is difficult to read. Hope this helps

BTW. I had a ZLD on my last boat and although it was a bit easier to use as far as controlling the cabin and tower speakers independently, the Kicker HU is very nice. I was thinking that I would be getting a 420 soon after taking delivery but I'm not so sure now

What is the is HU thing you talk about? Sounds like something that is complicated to me :) personally I run a zld with BT.. no need for a HU for me.

You need to turn volume knob so the volume bar shows on the display, then push volume knob and bar will change to zone 2, then you can adjust. That one knob does to many things! And sound pack 1,2,3 all use the kmc 20 head unit it's nice but you can't see it where it is mounted.

thanks all. it is hard to tell what volume control is being adjusted since I can't typically see the screen... Needs more shade I guess. I will try it out tonight... Willing to bet the 1 tap, 2 tap, 3 tap thing is the solution.

Although i would be interested to know how you adjust the gains... I looked online and learned you are simply adjusting the amps to the most efficient level. I looked at the amps under the console on the passenger side and they don't have any nobs on them like the guys on youtube showing how to do this.

Do I need to take it to a stereo place... that is next i guess.

Agree that the mounting/screen visibility is poor. But thanks for the knob info. I had no idea and I actually read most of the kicker manual.
