My boat originally came with the tatami mat which we hated as it got so hot we quit using it and just walked on the bare gel coat all season, but it recently got replaced under warranty and they sent an entire aqua fusion mat kit. Before I waste my time installing the snaps is this stuff just as hot? It feels a lot better to the touch at least when its cool and has some texture to it that the tatami didn't as it was just a flat weave. We plan to eventually do seadek or gator step but things keep coming up and taking up the money she allows me to blow on boat stuff lol.

I have carpet, looks as new 2yrs old and not hot. I had Tatami mat in my A22 in Texas and it was brutally hot...never again. The Seadek on the platform when dry was just as bad. I'll stick with carpet

I love the aqua fusion mat in my boat. It does get hot but no more than anything else. I've burned my feet more on the platform than in the boat. I pull the aqua fusion out a few times a year to wash it down and pull it out for the off season. Seadek/gator step would cover up where any snaps would go anyway so I don't see the harm in trying it out for a while.

Thanks 3oh2 and yes the platform gets super hot when dry, guess I will hunt down the snap install tool and get it put down soon to at least try it out. There is no way it can be as bad as the tatami mat, I told my dealer to tell everyone to not buy it and I let Malibu know how terrible it was I guess is why they upgraded me to the aqua fusion mat without even letting me know. I would have preferred the carpet hell I would have even paid a bit if it was an up charge but they didn't ask. If the Aqua fusion is a letdown I will be ordering gator step though so no harm no foul I just cant have hot flooring with a toddler on the boat this season.
