Guys, we were out doing some surfing this past weekend and all was good right until the end of the day. We have had a ton of rain the past couple weeks and lots of debris in the water. I knew that I hit a few small chunks of wood, but non appeared to be more that 6 inches long. I am thinking I might have hit one that was right below the water. When we started to take off I could not get above 6 MPH without a pretty bad shake. I did notice a few dings in the prop and one about the size of the end of your pinky finger. Would that be a large enough ding to cause that much of a shake?

Would I be better off order a new prop and then sending this one off to get repaired and balanced and keep it for a spare?

you might have a local prop guy that can fix that. I would check and see where all the dealers in your area take props. In Austin everyone uses Nettles.

If you do not have a spare I would buy a new prop and then repair this one. You should always have a spare prop so you never lose a weekend on the water. Maybe upgrade the new prop to a better performance prop and then repair the current for a spare.

Any deformity to a prop will cause vibration. It's machined to very tight tolerances to be balanced and allow smooth water flow

Here are the two blades that have damage. Do you think there is anything I am over looking? I paid close attention to the shaft while rotating the prop, but it appeared to be true to the naked eye.

Have you had it back in the water since then, may have been grass or something, those dings don't look like they'd cause a bad vibration but you never know, two of my buddies dinged their props on memorial weekend and one looked way worse than that and is still smooth, the other was 100$ to repair, it had the ears folded on 2 blades

No, I have not had it back in the water since then. I was thinking along the same lines as you, that it should not cause that bad of a vibration with those dings. It was about an hour back to the dock from where we were at so it could be possible grass. I only tried to give it more gas about 1/2 to the dock and still had the vibration. I did not attempt anything after that. I might have to take it out one night this evening and give it a try.

I ran over a bunch of debris a few weeks ago and mine started shaking pretty good, just stop and pop it in reverse to knock it all off and back to normal
