We spend most of our time wakeboarding and should finish the break in this week so we are ready to go.

Most of the posts are discussing surfing but I'm curious what are you all using for wakeboarding?

Are you weighing it down? Wedge vs no wedge?
What RPMs , prop, engine?

Any input would be welcome.
We have the T23, 350 engine with 2247 prop.
Someone stated they had similar set up and loaded it down but no wedge and it was working great but I can't find that post now.

Short answer: it depends. How do you like to ride?

I personally prefer more of a transition instead of an abrupt pop, so I don't usually ride with the wedge. I have used the wedge a few times and it definitely boots you, but doesn't suit my riding style. So...instead of hard tanks + wedge in the rear, I prefer hard tanks + 750 bags 50-60% full, no wedge. Center tank full of course. Horseshoe bag under bow seats and an extra 400 bag on top of bow seats. You should always run an extra bow bag (if your loading down the rear) unless you can stick a couple of adults up there in my opinion.

Don't forget to consider speed/line length. If you're riding at 19mph/55' and slamming the boat with 4k+ lbs, I'd say you're doing it wrong. Make sure you're hitting the wake at the clean/sweet spot.

I'm riding at 21mph/60' with this setup. Light crew.

'15 A22, 350, ACME 1235

Disclaimer: I have not wakeboarded behind a T23 yet. The setups should be pretty similar though.

Stock tanks full
750 rear bags full
650 bow sac full
Usually 3-6 adults on board
No wedge
70' rope @ 22.2
350 engine with a 2249 prop
Currently on a hyper lite Murray 134

And for what it's worth surfing weight is the same plus wedge and gate.
Speed is roughly 10.4

Stock full
Wedge down or up depending on my mood.
900lb rears partially full
Arrow full
70'
23mph
I am 5'9 230lbs.

I have learned rider weight plays a big part in speed of the boat. With my size, I can't cut as hard at 22mph as I can at 23mph. If I do, my cut will be too aggressive and it is counter productive. I will dig my board too much into the water.

Board size matched to the rider is very important as well

I ride a 142'. If slingshot made a larger, stiff board, I would ride it. I am going to test out the Nomad in a few weeks when they do the demo day. I have found the pop on the slingshot boards which most people can't find.

At your weight isn't it recommended that you ride a 145-146 according to pretty much every manufacturer's specs? I weigh 170 and ride a Slingshot Reflex 141 and feel it's a great match. I also ride a Ronix District 140. I think that's why you're riding at 23mph vs 21-22mph is because your 142 is struggling whereas a 145-146 with more surface area would benefit you. You could slow things down to progress much better. I mean, if you're not landing a couple inverts, 360's, raileys, and more advanced tricks...I don't see any need to ride at 23mph. I'm nothing special on a wakeboard but I think any wakeboard camp or coach would probably have you slow down with the right board to progress. Just a suggestion anyways.
