I have a few questions I'm hoping some A24 and/or Axis owners in general can help me out with..

I just spent three days on a camping trip and put 15 hours on our 2014 A24, finally getting some time to play with settings and weight.

First question I have is: How do I ensure my actual speed is accurate? I saw a calibrate speed setting in the settings menu but didn't mess with it yet.. Does using that calibration setting make your speed accurate? I'm not saying my speed is off, but I have no idea. Its as it was from the dealer. From what I was seeing from my speedo, it seemed to be best around 10.8 to 11.2 mph

Second question: Does my wave look short? everyone that surfed was pretty close to the boat. Being total newbies at this, we just aren't sure we have the best or at least a good wave for surfing..

Setup we were using most of the time and in the pic:

five adults and three kids
all factory tanks full
750 FlyHigh sacs in the lockers (full)
900 FlyHigh sac in the bow (full) so full the front cushion pops up
Four sacks of lead 50lbs each on the floor at the very rear of the carpet area below rear seat
Six 65 lb. lead bars in the walkway as close to the front as they can go.

Here's a picture of my buddies son riding (he weighs 150 lbs.)

Looks good to me. Drop that wedge at the same speed and enjoy.

So I have about 12 hours on my a24 I am running 1100s in each rear and the front bag that can't hold more that 600lbs?? I felt like my wake was short until my friend who is a good surfer road behind it and could surf 12-14 feet back?? We surfed everywhere from 11.8-12.6

To answer your first question, download a free gps speedometer app on your phone to see if your speed needs to be calibrated. Mine definitely needed it.

I just hooked up my sacs and was wondering if the fiberglass in the bow could puncture the sac when filled up, pushing the seat cushions up. Is that filling it up too much?

If your wake is short. I would put more weight in the nose.. Once you are riding have people move to the nose and see if that will give you a longer sweet spot.

I was talking to the guys at bakes today and they recommended adding a bag in the walkway.. think I will try an 800lb bag there for the hell of it.

With surfgate I normally run rear bags on top of the factory. the factory nose ballastg(On a Bu) and then I drop a bag in the walkway. I will normally have a little more of the bag in the walkway towards the front. I normally run the power wedge a bump from the bottom just to clean up the wake. Then if I am not getting as much as I need I will do a another bag on the seats but only fill it 1/2. If you have a floating wedge I wonder when to much is to much.. :)
