Looking at buying a 2014 A22 with the 330 monsoon in her.

What prop is everyone running for wakeboarding lets say having factory ballast full with a 950 up front and a 650 in each rear locker?

Acme 2315 is the most popular prop but it's very aggressive on low end.

Thanks.

Don't really surf much but trying to decide if a boat with no surf gate is a huge deal breaker. From what I hear the platform on the 2013 effects to the surf wake quite a bit. Does the new platform effect it?

I think for resell.. you are going to want surfgate. boats without surfgate are a harder resell these days.

surfgate is great for resale absolutely, but you can save a BUNCH of money by getting a non-surfgate boat. So it goes both ways.

The platform was updated in 2012 to NOT cut into the surf wave. In 2014 the platform changed again to accommodate surfgate.

2014 A22 w/SG 330 motor at 4k to 6k in elevation.

We started with the 1235 and swapped to the 2079. Current ballast setup is full pnp with 800s in the lockers, 650ish under bow and 400+ on top of bow with wedge. The 1235 was ok for surfing but couldn't plane with the weight and wedge at wakeboard speeds. Our dealer has had great results with the 2079. It will plane where the 1235 wouldn't. The downside is top speed is 36 mph and wake boarding is at higher rpms. I am going to swap our spare 1235 for a 2315 and try that this summer.

Personal opinion but resale will be a lot easier with SG.

Thanks everyone for the input. I agree with the surf gate. Only ones you can find are 2014 between 60-65k. But you can find 2012-2013 for 50-55k.
Im glad when you are trying to have kids you don't have all the decisions like this........

I am from Houston but if anyone heres of any deals on a used 2014 with surf gate let me know im in the market!

Check out the 2014 T22. It can be had for a little cheaper. I bet if you looked around, you could get one for 55k.

The T22 has the new, updated hull. The 2014 A22 has surfgates based off of the old hull. The T22 will surf better than the 2014 A22 in my opinion. As far as wakeboarding goes, supposedly the T22 is more steep. In my opinion, the wakes are close enough to the same I couldn't tell the difference but others on here that have weighted them out claim they can tell a difference.
