We are making plans to go to Brostock this year at Lake of The Ozarks. Any suggestions on where to stay, things to do or places to stay away from. Thx

I plan on renting a house on the lake. Is there a good or bad side of the lake.

That lake is huge with big boats. Try to find a place near captain Ron's. It's a pain in the ass trying to run across that lake on the weekend.

Stay away from the main lake on the weekends. Huge roller and wakes due to heavy big boat traffic. Been there in 27-29' powerboats and still got beat up. Hope they hold Brostock in one of the small arms of the lake or it'll just be blown out. Your MB will do better than your A22 would.

Yeah

All of a sudden it doesn't sound like it's worth the drive.

If you want to go to party and watch the event, its worth it. If you want to go ride, I would pick a different lake.

I've made a trip up there, not during Brostock, and it was still impossible to find rideable water. The chop was ridiculous. It's very commercialized which is great if you want to boat to restaurants and bars, but not so good if your trying to get away from it all. Maybe I'm just used to my peaceful home lake.

We have gone the last three years in a row. We found rideable water every morning that we went it's just in the afternoon like any Biglake a gets rough. Make sure you bring a wetsuit the waters a little chilly compared to what we're used to. Rance you can call me and I'll give you all the details. I consider it one of the best trips I've ever been on.

We've been going for the last 3 years and staying at a resort across the lake from capt rons
(mm #33)where the event is held. We've always had good water on weekdays and early morning mornings on weekends back in the niangua arm. I would try and stay near there. Definently getts rough out in the main channel around Osage and sunrise beach, and it'd be a pretty long cruise to captain rons from there
I think it's worth the trip, we drive 7 hrs to get there. It's alot of fun
