Finally got our new A22 and cant wait to try surfing. Tried to surf a few years ago on my old boat with a cwb board. It just wasn't happening due to wave. Fast forward 3 years and there are so many boards I don't know where to begin. Some people say only buy boards from wakesurf companies yet ive heard excellent reviews of the ronix parks thruster. Don't know if this is possible but im looking for a boat board everyone can learn on ,but won't out grow us after a few weeks or season. Im thinking surf style first then maybe a skim board. Im 185 lbs. and we have riders from 150-250 lbs. they all learn quickly.

Ive read goods reviews of Ronix parks thruster, Inland surfer mucus, XXX slasher pro x, soulcraft jetty, Victoria factor. Im not in an area we can demo. so any help is appreciated.

noticed Victoria had this board on sale. Is this useable? seemed narrow compared to the current model

That Victoria board is too small for your weight and the overall weight range you're trying to accommodate. Probably need 54" skimboard if you go skim.

^We also use a Ronix koal as the communal board. Recently picked up a Phase 5 danielo diamond and tried it out for the first time today. Conditions weren't very good but I can already tell that I'm going to like it

I want a Phase 5 Danielo Diamond so bad. For now I just have the Inland Surfer Squirt for a hybrid skim/surf. Just picked this up from Nick of Shred Stixx in Austin. He hand shaped this Chaos Carbon Sixer. Has carbons rails with bamboo top deck.

No I haven't. I met up with Nick (His shaping shack is only about 60 miles from me) the night before I took delivery of my A24. Took the A24 out a few hours then the weather got crappy for almost a week then I had to go to work on the oil rig for 3 weeks. Another 17 days until I get a chance to get more hours on the boat and then ride.

I also have a 5'6" Ronix Koal as the boat board. It's easy to ride and as a boat board to teach or share with occasional guests invited but you'll get bored with it after a season in my opinion. The thing with wakesurfing is that there are so many boards and styles so you yourself will end up wanting a surf style and skim style that you like and suited for your height/weight then you'll need a surf and/or skim each for everyone else. That will have you at 3-4 boards quickly. I've heard good things about the Ronix Thruster as well. Keep your eye out for some deep discount prices on last years boards.

that is a pretty board AJ.

Not sure how many good surfers are going to be left from last year at closeout. all the thrusters from last season sold out from most dealers.

I have been on all the Shredstixx, inlands, archer brands, and Ronix. I am actually pretty impressed with the Ronix Thruster coming from a NON-surf only brand.
