Hey guys,

Check out this Facebook competition to name an Indycar driver's Axis A24. There are prizes. And don't we all love free stuff?

Probably new to the boating scene, you don't name boats under 26'...but that's just rule of thumb. Nice colors he chose though.

I know that over a certain length you have to have a name for maritime radio, but why not come up with a name- if you put it on the boat or not?

True. Always fun to come up with boat names to match personalities or lifestyles.

My last boat was named "liquid courage". It fit my crew well.

3 best boat names I've ever seen:

- My friend in the medical business has a houseboat "Drug Money"
- Malibu 247 with $50,000+ in stereo and LEDs and wrapped called "The Wake Slut"
- Viking motor yacht in Puerto Aventuras called "Poverty Sucks"

Agreed on not namming boats without a bed and head, but there is one i like: There is a skiboat around here named "gas-hole"...he said he came up with it the very first week of ownership and 3 trips to the gas dock. Of course this was also the same gas dock where he was telling me the story.

I named my first boat Sotally Tober. It was a party boat pretty much. I've never named any of my wake boats.
