Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the vinyl on the engine compartment door rubbing on the cup holder in back. My boat is a 2011 model and the vinyl is already starting to tear. The dealer stated that it would probably be covered under warranty, but I wanted to see if anyone was doing anything to help it(idk...possibly vaseline or some sort of oil)

mine is doing it too, the dealer is supposedly going to cover it under warranty, I haven't heard from them in a month though, when they get the covers in we're going to trim 1/4 inch off the radius by the cup holder to stop it from happening again

Is this from opening/closing the door? Any pics you could post up? Just bought mine and would like to avoid it before it starts to happen.

thanks!

@ nastya20 - yes, we use the compartment a good bit for storage ( I don't have the PNP ballast bags yet). I have the cover on right now, but I'll try to post some pics after this weekend on the water. On the a22 it is a super tight fit, but I guess that it is a good thing to keep water out of the engine area....

I noticed that Sunday night while cleaning up after a day out. Mine's very tough to open and believe that's the cause. Boat's only 3 weeks old, so I may pull out the cupholder piece until a fix is made from axis.

It has already rubbed through to the threads...very disappointing :( . I also noticed that it is rubbing toward the back area of the hatch as well and the heater is rubbing a little on the front chillax. Hopefully, my dealer will correct it when we go back in November for winterization.

If you haven't already, ask your dealer about it. If they have to order a new skin... it takes forever.

I had the same problem on mine. I removed the hinges and ovaled the holes slightly with a drill press. This allows for more adjustment when it is re installed and allows for the cover to be moved away from the cup holders

just did a minor repair on mine today, the dealer was nice enough to ship the skins to me to save me the trouble of dragging the boat to them and paying an upholstery guy to fix it, warranty does not cover labor after 1 year, so I took it upon myself to fix the rubbing problem and save the skins for when I really need them, now if the rub marks don't get any worse I will keep the original skins on until they start to look bad. woot!!!

more, the doors are made out of a really high density foam so they sand really easy, getting to it is another story, Axis was not skimpy with the staples
