Having an issue with the cruise control holding speed. I have the 1235 high altitude prop. Boat only has 6hr on it thus far. As the person boarding cut out the speed would drop roughly 1mph, then increase speed to try and get back to set speed. Each time it did this, it beeped like it does when it achieves set speed from stop.

Might try to give it a bit more throttle, when it beeps I think the computer is expecting to see more throttle angle, I wish I could tell you for sure but mine stopped beeping 2 years ago for some reason, lol, now it only beeps if I have the depth alarm set on.

Is there proper protocol for going from stop to cruise speed? I test drove two A22s. On one the guy said give it full throtle and the computer will do the rest. On the other he didnt say one way or the other. My old malibu I would give it WOT then pull it back and let the cruise take over.

I will play with it some more.

I never give it full throttle unless we slalom, usually I go about 1/2 to 2/3 then pull back a little when the cruise slows the engine down. Sometimes if I go full tilt it will actually overtake the cruise and start bookin ass on ya.

x 40, either way is okay. You can throw it WOT and leave it. It will overshoot a little bit more when settling down to speed than if you assist it, but you can run like this all day long. If you are on a big lake or long slough and do not need to turn sharp or turn around often, then you wont really notice any difference either way, except if you pull back to help engage, you may not be giving enough throttle and you can get beeped at until you increase the throttle a bit more. WOT will not allow you to override the set speed, so if you need to speed up suddenly, you will not be able to. If you have to turn sharp or turn around, the cruise will be able to get to WOT as needed to keep speed.

If you assist by throttling down as you get close to speed, you will not overshoot as much and you will get to the set speed a little faster, plus you will have the ability to override the speed set if you needed to speed up (for whatever reason). If you are constantly making sharp turns or turn arounds, you will probably need to give it more throttle to assist in holding speed, then throttling back down to set speed. When I do this, sometimes it takes 10-15 seconds for the cruise to take over again.

either way is acceptable.

You could try and change the cruise by setting it to read the tachometer instead of the speedo. It shows you how in the manual. I have the same problem with my A22 it drops down and speeds up when on cruise set at speed but it stays constant if set on revs.

It seems to be holding speed better now. I still need to calibrate my speedo becuase there is no way my wife is pulling me at 24mpg with 65ft of rope. It is a new boat so I think that first sesh was still breaking everything in. Also, I have noticed that if I do not have the weight just right, I will get higher fluctuations in speed while cruise engaged.
I will say that this past weekend, It would bouce around above and below the set speed, but did not constantly beep, as if to keep setting the speed, like it did the first time.

I ride behind mine at 23.8 and sometimes 24.at 70 feet so it might not be to far off.
