So my head unit got wet (from rain) and I was surprised that some of my buttons aren't working :x so I did the usuall trick, hair drier, rice, constant air, and so on,but still same results. I skipped out on audio at purchase so if I need to replace it I want super nice. I feel like out of the three components ( tower speakers, amp, head unit) the head unit was cheapest item Sony explode CDX- M60UI, with kicker amp 300x2 with wet sound rev8s. What do you guys feel is the best head unit?

I'd take a look at the Clarion or Alpine HU options.

so im assuming CMD8 replaced the CDM7 and does alpine offer a marine application? I didn't see a marine specific head unit. I want something water tight so I don't have the same thing happen again

Have you seen these: http://www.fusionelectronics.co.nz/mari ... ereo-units
I had one in my last boat and thought it was the best built marine stereo around. Mine had multi-zones, class-d amp, ipx5 waterproof spec, very flexible crossovers, iphone/ipod integration....

Good catch morrisdl,

I have seen these head units before and they look very good. Might be worth a try.

The wired remotes were really nice too! Now I see they also have bluettooth and builtin wifi/phone app - pretty sweet!
