I was perusing wakeworld just now and noticed a thread in which someone mentioned a company near Murfreesboro, TN that I ordered a teak platform from years and years ago. The name of the company is Teak World http://teakworldenterprises.samsbiz.com/ I decided to call the owner and talk shop with him for a bit. He said that he is still making swim platforms for boats, and that he'd make anything for any boat. He said that a standard sized platform for like a smaller ski boat was like $450, and a larger one was $500. The price obviously changes somewhat on what you want, but it was way less than I anticipated. Well, that got me thinking. I've got my old pre-redesigned swim platform off of my '11 A22 in my garage taking up space. I live in Chattanooga, which isn't all that for from this guy's shop. He could use the old platform as a template for building one.

Anywho, I know that there are people on here who have pre '12 A20s and A22s, who are considering doing something to alter their pre-redesign platforms, but don't want to spend $1400 on a new fiberglass one. Well, if anyone wants to take the initiative to call Teak World and work out a deal with the owner to get one built, I'd be glad to lend out my old platform to help get you a new one made. If no one is interested in this, that's cool, I just thought I'd lay this out there.

I just dropped some coinage in some new goodies, surf board, rope, dripless seal, prop, bags, etc. I think the wifey would flip a lid if I did anything soon, but I am sorta interested in a years time, maybe less

Old school teak would be interesting to see on an Axis. I think it may look a little "off" considering the contemporary design of the Axis but it is definitely worth a look at. Thanks for your work in scouting this out. I found a company in Houston that would do it but never followed up with pricing. Already upgraded my platform right at $1000.

Thats cool of you to offer up yours to help get the ball rolling. When there was a thread on this subject several months ago there were several pages of owners interested in a newer designed platform at a lower cost through a reproduction company. However its a little early in the season for my area. Our lake doesnt even have the docks put in yet!

Thanks for the heads-up, Chatt. I know a guy who does a lot of glass work, been thinking about having him take a look at modifying mine, but this may be a better option. Will try to give them a call in the coming days.

I personally love the look of teak, so if it is done right, I think it could look really good on an Axis.
