To tint...or not to tint?

After reading a few threads on the topic, I'm curious how those who have decided to tint their windshields like the overall look? What % did you use and do you have any pics of your boat you could post? Are there any disadvantages you are experiencing? I bought a new 2012 A22 late last season and I'm trying to decide if I should get the windshield tinted. Thanks!

here is a recent shot of my buddies A20 without tint, and my A22 with %20.

I was debating between 15 and 20, the 15 is just a tad bit darker, but my buddy Tad (twistedTad) did his at 20 just before me and I really liked how his turned out.

Im not out at night much, but the few times I have been, it was not a huge deal looking through it, but it sure makes boating in the day light so much better

35% looks great...just enough for subtle styling, yet serves a purpose. Thanks for sharing. Have been debating this since my last boat and current Axis but have yet to do it. I'm out past sunset till midnight sometimes.

Also, IF you took it to a tint shop, what was the price? I've been quoted $250 and $450. I think $450 is retarded since the Axis is probably the easiest of all boat windshields to tint.

I've been thinking about the same thing. I think it would look great on my blacked out boat. I was quoted $35 a window so $105 for 15%. I'm liking Walter's 35% though. Your quotes seem pretty high. This was from a creditable place too. They did my tint and level/wheels and tires on my F-150.

A friend of mine tinted for the local ford dealer so he did mine for the cost of the tint, 30$ haha. AJ I'd have done it myself if I got a quote like that, he only had to shrink the corners and did them with a hair dryer, took about 35-45 minutes to do all 3 windows, and he came to my house and did it haha!

I blacked out mine. 5 percent. i think i paid 100 or less. but here in AZ its so worth it and im out past sunset sometimes and never a prob.
