Hi all,

Last year I was decided on finding a good deal on an Axis A20 or A22.

But after doing way too much research on the Axis and then seeing the Tige R20 last month at my local boat show. I am now back to square one.

In my area, the Axis owners are having a hard time to sell their boats. There are no stats yet for the R20.

Any of you that went over both boats ? what are the pros and cons ?

What worries me, is the resell value of the Axis and the interior finish seems a little bit better on the R20.

I want to the use the boat to surf, wakeboard and family outing/sports.

Let me know you inputs!

Thank you

I had my mind set on a tige r20 before I went to demo the axis a20. The axis was hands down ahead in my opinion and I was dead set on the tige. Ended up getting a a22 when all was said and done. I do not regret my decision at all.

Sorry can't help a whole lot. I came from a Tige (22v) to my A22 solely because it is a malibu and has the malibu wake. I have only sat in the R20 and was not impressed, mainly the tower was low and looked weak, and the drivers helm has horrible ergonomics, throttle placement and right arm rest. The tige will have a little better vinyl and has a smaller bow so maybe a bit bigger cab area. Standard motor on R20 is the 305 compared to the 335 w/ the A20. Have not driven or ridden behind an R20, but have driven and ridden behind a few A20's.

Go drive and wakeboard behind both, your answer should be easy after that.

Im with Johnny, go out in both and see which boat fits you the best. You can read peoples opinions all day long but at the end of the day you are the one who has to feel comfortable in the boat so get out there and drive one, You'll know which one is best for you after just a few minutes.

I seriously doubt that the R20 can hold a candle to the A20 wake. People I know have not had a hard time selling their Axis boats, so long as they advertise nationally and are realistic about resale price.

I should have said that Im in Canada. The market is thinner and "shorter" with our long winter.

Where in canada? I was looking at both but also went with the a22 after doing my research. I had a chance to ride and drive an r20 after buying my boat and i must say that it made me feel even better about my decision. But go with what you feel is best and get out on the water :)

Khol's in a cold part of BC and I'm in the Vancouver area which means I'll probably be able to get out this month :).

If you're looking at early A22s being resold, one factor for 09/10 models would have been the exchange rate at the time of the purchase. Especially with an 09 of any boat a seller would have to take a hit on their selling price to factor in the drop in pricing due to the increase in exchange rate we've seen. I bought an 09 last year in the US. Bringing it back wasn't too hard at all. If you can extend your search to the US you might have a few more options to consider.

The only problem is that I want to wakesurf now therefore I really want the newer platform design. And if Im not mistaken it is only on '12 and up.

So yeah ive been looking in the USA, and I love doing roadtrip so I dont mind going as far as Florida. But I need the right deal and in "perfect" condition.
