I must admit, I've been doing some looking for my next boat. I've currently got a 2011 A-20, I was wanting some thing with a few more options. After much research I've found myself back at Axis. Boy how lucky I got when I purchased my boat. I mostly wakeboard, I never realized how hard it is to get a good wake. A lot of the other boats I've been looking at have some sort of issue with speed or front/back side/side weight. I've had many people ask me what speeds and weight I run at to clean up the wake. Always wondered what they meant. I just always answered, "what ever I want". I think the Nautique, Mastercrafts, and Malibu are great boats. But the price is definitely a lot higher than our Axis. In summary, we all did good with Axis. Simple boat, but by far the best wake for any boat that is any where close to the price range.

My second choice if not Axis A22 would easily be the MB F21. My best friend has a 2012 F21 and the stock ballast wake is just sick. He got his slightly less than a current Axis A22 and it had a heater and complete Wetsounds tower system, cabin speakers, amps, and Zero-Off. It's wake is different than the Axis in that its more vertical but the shape is money all day. Even down to 18-19mph the wake is so clean and practically no rooster tail.

Is that you in the video? If it is, nice work! That wake looks beautiful, what is the ballest and wedge set-up?

Very nice, that wake looks like a slammed boat lol. Post up that ballast, wedge/no wedge, and speed please.

"Axis wake quality" is the biggest, most important reason I bought mine. The wake you get for the price in a brand new boat cannot be beat.... MB is second place, imo, but a far second. I take people out on my boat and unless they are a hardcore pre 2007 super air nautique guys, they rave about the wake (and handling). The wake is deceiving from the boat and from pictures, it always looks smaller than it is, but then they go out and ride it and get a huge smile on their face.

The best thing about it, and can't be said about any other current boat (except for the 04-11 xstar) is that the wake gets better and better with every pound you add to it. I have noticed that it is difficult to "incorrectly" weight it, as long as you do not go super back heavy, you will have a clean hard bangin wake. One cool thing is that as you add weight, the wake gets steeper. With no ballast, or stock hard tanks, the wake is very mellow and round on the top, but keep adding weight and it gets steeper, and every time I add more weight, I am surprised by how well the hull handles it. I can see why some of the pro's get the big 450hp motors and have 6000 lbs in them, the hull can easily take that weight and produce a crazy wake.

I have ridden an MB F21 quite a few times, once with stock ballast and it was a nice wake, steep for sure and wide, but fun. Then I rode it with about 1000 over stock with 6 people in it and it was really steep and wide, but big and fun. then I rode one with only a few people in it but A LOT more weight over stock and it was super super steep and super wide. It was so hard to ride, it was like a pre-2007 SAN but another 5-7 feet wider... no fun. I think the stock wake with extra bow weight and a few people in the cab is the better set up. Bad thing is the wake was temperamental at under 23, no matter what the set up was. Still a great boat and wake for the price, if you like really steep wakes.

I agree, we made a great choice, and for the money I do not think the boat can be beat.... and besides a G23, MXZ or wakesetter, I do not think the wake can be beat either.

Sorry, so you're saying it was all just the stock plus standard plug n play? Or were the 400s in rears and the arrow in front in addition to the plug n play rear sacs and bag under seats in front?
