Just simple strap down brackets on the floor with a strap to secure it (the battery box) right in front of the stock battery box. It should be ran so the Isolator allows you to choose battery 1, battery 2, both, or turn them both off.

Oh...and I ran two identical batteries.

I had the same question about my second battery... I was going to build a custom box for both batteries that would take up less space, but I like how the stock box is sealed and secured. I need to find out what box that is so I can order a second one.

As for batteries. I am running Kinetiks 2000 (x2) and pulling my stock starting battery. It has the same rating as my wifes car battery and she is due for a new one. I use both batteries as audio and cranking. I did this with kinetiks in my last boat for 3 years and loved it. You need to decide if you want to just add a battery or replace the original with 2 new ones. I guess the cheapest easiest route would be pick up a marine battery (ie optima blue top) and that as your second battery. It depends on the load from your system.

We picked up the Interstate SRM-29 Deep cycle battery to run our stereo. Cheaper than an Optima Blue Top and has a better RC rating. Got a battery box for it off Amazon.com for $15. Total investment was under $150.

We also went with an Interstate battery (SRM-27). Just used a battery box with a strap. We also added a prosport 12 dual bank battery charger. It's nice to be able to just plug it in at night and know the batteries will stay charged. Here is a pic.

I am definately going to add one of these chargers. I have an Optima Blue top (stereo) & stock interstate (starter). Any ideas on the best charger for your dollar?
