Not sure about gel coat prep, I imagine you do not want any dirt or polish on your gel coat. But one piece of advice, put each piece on a barrel or bucket out in direct sunlight for a few hours before install. This will hopefully give them a new "memory", convex, and should help prevent the corners from peeling up. Definately make sure they are flat in the sun before install, at the very least.

I installed mine myself after purchase last summer. I wiped the area down with rubbing alcohol and then applied. Pretty easy job. I had a couple left over that I couldn't find where they went and they ended up going under the sundeck at transom.

How long has every one had there deck track for? I'm thinking about putting it on my rig but wondering how it will look in 10 years be all scabby and wrecked? I have never seen it so I wouldn't know? Can any one fill me in?

I don't know about 10 years, but the worst I could see happening after a few years is the corners might start to peel up. I wouldn't buy another boat without it.

I have a couple of corners peeling as well. Anyone have advice what to use to glue it back down? Would crazy glue be a bad idea?

It is if you've ever slipped and busted your hind side on the gel coat before!
