Hey guys,

Yesterday I was on the lake and my cruise seems to intermittently stick on. I tried to unplug the battery for a few seconds to see if it will reset and it doesn't. Sometimes it unlocks, but often it stays lock at a certain speed which become a little annoying when you are set to 10Mph. See here: http://youtu.be/WeuEri_ZyK8

Anyone can help? It there some sort of lock function that I'm not aware of?

Does your boat have a depth finder? If so scroll the info panel to something other than depth and see how that works.

Yes, the original depth finder was installed on the boat. I will give that a shot and see if it fixes the issue.

Have you tried turning off before you start the engine?

That's the main issue is that I cannot turn off or change the speed. Yes I have tried, but no it does not work as it acts like if it was locked ON with a certain SET speed.

This is an old issue with the tach. Axis swapped most of these out with a new version under warenty.

If you turn the boat off with the display on depth, the next time you run the boat cruise will be locked up. Reset the display to anything other than depth and shut off the engine until the displays go out, restart and all better.

What year is yours? I would bet 09 or 10. Well out of warranty by now, but still worth emailing Axis about a replacement tach. I have found them to be very good the couple times I worked with them. Sometimes the dealers get in the way of good support, so be persistent. Good luck!

I could try emailing them. Do they require the serial number of the boat or what do they need?
