Hey guys,

I just purchased a 2010 Axis A22 and found that the sound system isn't working properly. Here is what is sounds like; http://youtu.be/-RHBux8es5E

I did try to unplug the RCA cables in the AMP and bypass from RCA to AUX to my Iphone and it works great! At this point I'm thinking that it's a short, bad ground, bad cable... but no clue where else to start. We know that everything after the AMP example wires and speakers are fine - it's between the AMP and DECK. But what?

Let me know :)

Thank you,

Mike

You've narrowed it down pretty good. Has to be a wiring issue or bad headunit. In the video, is this a cd or the ipod? Have you tried using the aux port with your ipod cable you used to connect directly to amps? Is the sound from video through Ipod hookup on headunit?

The only wires you should have coming from the head unit to the amp side under port locker are the ground, power and remote turn on. The remote turn on should connect to the amp (this is if you have 1 amp) and the power/ground should be on the same battery as amps are.

Before you start replacing stuff. Clean the rca connections at the head unit and the amp. If that doesn't work try a new rca cable.

Mine dis this and I cleaned the connections and fixed it.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your replies.

ban-ls1 - I will give that a try this evening.

nastya20 - In the video it's my Iphone playing connected to the headunits USB, but it does the same on Radio, CD as well. I will make sure that those 3 wires are clean and connected properly and let you know later today or tomorrow.

I really can't wait to have this fully fixed - summer is start here in Ottawa, Ontario and without a good sound system it won't be fun :)

Hey guys,

I wasnt expecting this but it appears that the sympthoms changed.

When I unplug both RCA cables (Left and Right) from the AMP and the Headunit, I still get a little bit of static in the speakers. When I connect only one RCA cable to the headunit and to the back of the AMP (Top port) - it works fine on all speakers when I set the AMP to 2Channels. If I move those RCA cables to the bottom ports, only half of the speakers play on 2 Channels and none play on 4 Channels.

Also, the AMP lights often seem to flash intermittentely even after I hold the DEMO button to try and disable the DEMO function. Is this normal or is it the AMP acting up?

I'm starting to think that it could be an AMP issue but am really not an experts here :S

Let me know,

Thank you for you help.

Mike

can you take some pics of your setup? 2 batteries, how many amps (one I'm guessing), etc.

if you still have noise with nothing plugged into the amps I would check your ground wires.
