Well I just got my new A22 and totally stoked! Here is my question and if it has been asked before, my apologies:

My family and I love the convenience of a wet slip. We tend to use the boat alot more with one. So I have a wet slip that I just put my boat in but it has no lift - cant afford one right now. I always hear that I should not keep my boat in the water but the convenience of it in the wet slip is very appealing.

I just bought the Boat bling and plan on cleaning my boat and waxing it monthly. Any thoughts or recommendations as the best way to manage the cleanliness of the boat or should I just take it out of the wet slip all together? Is Boat Bling the right stuff?

Thanks in advance!

Keeping a boat in a wet slip is pretty hard to keep totally clean compared to trailering it. Haven't heard of any blistering issues with Axis but that's always a concern with leaving wakeboats in the water full time...gel coat blistering. One thing about the shape of the Axis is, its going to be almost impossible for you to keep water spots from layering under the picklefork area under the bow. thats just an area you cant reach to clean if you have it in a wet slip. then when you wax your boat monthly as you say you will, youre going to find that you will have to either cut and polish the water spots off or have to use some Lime-away to get them off. not even straight vinegar will get off some of those water spots if left on there a month or two at a time...depending on how hard your lake water is. Then worry about scum line building up. Personally I couldn't sleep if my boat was outside, muchless, in a wet slip. Good luck but you're in for some hard work every time me you want to wax it. Not worth it in my opinion versus just taking 8-10 min to launch and recover with a trailer.

One thing I did not mention. You said you plan on cleaning and waxing it monthly. You live in the south so your summertime sun is as brutal there as it is in Texas. If you do not clean your gel coat daily...your boat will start to look like crap in just a few days. That sun will bake and etch the water spots into your gel coat so bad that no water spot remover will get them all off. You have to wipe down and clean daily to keep it looking good.

I just got all the boat bling products and have used the hot sauce once. It works great.

AJW - thanks for the feedback! Trust me, my decision to wet slip it has been keeping me up at night. But to clarify, I will be cleaning my boat after every use with the HOTSAUCE. The monthly cleaning will be with the wax. My buddy is next to my slip and he has a lift. the other day we put my boat on it to see how it worked. i was able to gain access to about 98% of the boat without any struggle so the plan is that I would use his lift monthly to do the cleaning.

I will reassess the wet slip after the first year. If it becomes a pain in the rear - its going dry!

Thanks again for your input!

I just remembered something about keeping your boat in the water. A couple Axis owners have had the padding on the platform peel up after leaving their boats in the water days at a time. I believe that was with the Seadek that was on 2009-2011 Axis. In 2012 Axis started using a another type of Seadek that is much harder than the previous softer padding. Just keep your eye on it.
