Hey guys, looking for some advice...
I just moved onto a new house on a pretty small private lake (handful of other riders live on it though), but the dock doesn't have a boat lift. I plan on waxing the hull every month, so I'm not worried about it getting dirty, but I am concerned as to how I can lock it down to make theft more difficult.
The only idea I had so far was to get some padlocks and vinyl chains. Anybody have an idea or process that has worked for them in the past?
Thanks!

I go through the rim and around the trailer. Then lock it up along with a simple coupler lock. If someone wants your boat bad enough, they'll get it no matter what.

Wait so is it in the water or on the trailer ..... I also agree that regardless of the measures you take if they want it they will take it. You can do things like pull fuses or pull ign coil cable if you want to disable the boat. But best security is to make sure your insurance is paid up ..... Lol

You worried about your boat getting stolen or the gear inside?
I would pull all the gear when you are done for the day. If it is a small ski lake I would ask around and see if your lake has had problems.

My apologies if I wasn't clear. The boat will be in the water most of the time. I will be taking it out every month or so to wax the hull with some great 3M stuff I bought. I've got a shed about 75ft off the dock to keep my equipment, and I can padlock that. I'm just concerned with a theft-resistant (not theft-proof) way to keep the boat tied to the dock. Right now I'm just using mooring lines but I did order some vinyl coated chains and padlocks to see if I can get creative. Just wanted to see what others have done if anything. Sounds like I just need to grin and bear it, or buy a lift haha.

Could always mount a hoop to the dock and lock a chain to that and another lock to your cleat on the boat
