LakeWake... I agree to go with the bigger sack, you do not have to fill it all the way if you do not want to.

Check out this thread "questions on PROPer setup"

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1563&start=10

I did a side by side comparison of the FH 750's versus the SL Sumo 600's. You can decide for yourself what is better, but if by "new" you are talking about getting a 2013, then you will have the 1" inside diameter hoses, fittings, and bigger pumps... go with Straightline's SUMO series for sure, they are all 1" I.D. and as you will see from my write up, they are, in my opinion, better sacs and the 600's appear to be the same weight as the 750's.

Also, if you can wait until April to order your sacs, you can get the SUMO axis bow sack that is better and bigger than the Fly high bow sack. It has the 1" ID fill and drains, and it is expected to be $50-$100 cheaper than the fly high sack. In the same proper set up thread I referred to earlier is my write up on the sumo bow sack and pictures.

Thanks for all the opinions, this has been a great help.

After further reading about issues getting the boat to plane with a 2450 lb extra ballast system (p n p), I’m now starting to think about upgrading to the 350 HP Motor. I will not be able to test the boat, so I would hate to be disappointed with my purchase.

I think this is the same motor that is standard in the smaller malibu wakesetters. It’s about a $1300 upgrade and I definitely cant justify the 410 ($5000-$10000).

What do you guys think, will the 20 HP make a significant increase in hole shot or just getting the boat to plane???

Thanks Again!

Try and negotiate the price with your dealer. If not you will be fine with the 330hp.

Go and buy yourself a 2315. I have talked to a few people running 6k(super not safe) plus wedge in their boats with this prop. They are pro riders not directly sponsored by malibu/axis. If you want a little more top end get the 2313.

When I talked to ACME they told me to never buy a upgraded motor. They can 95 percent of the time re prop you for your set up.

Agreed...if you can get a deal every little bit of HP will help I'm sure, but you can accomplish a hell of a lot with prop. I run an A20 with 3000lbs of ballast and the wedge and have the cinco prop. It has to work for sure but gets on plain and is solid. If I go over 4 in the boat though I either don't use the wedge or hit drain on the rears as rider's down then fill once on plain. Not that big an issue either way, wake is amazing, and with the cinco I run quieter with less RPMs and better top end when I want it. Based on results I've heard of you can run a great deal more with some of the more aggressive props mentioned.

thanks everyone for your help. I pulled the trigger on a 2013 a22, super pumped about the summer. It was fairly stock with a few upgrades like the 350 motor, high altitude prop, and the other usuals (stereo 1, covers, cleats, spare tire, etc).

Now waiting for the snow to go away........
