No, I put it in drive, then push the down arrow button on the manual shift. And also pushbthebtow/haul button on.

On these trucks they have the Triptonic shifting or the +/- buttons on the shifter. While in M you can shift as a manual, but if it's in Drive you can press the - button and on the display the 6 will disappear and not allow the truck to shift into 6th. Pretty cool.
