Hey Guys, next year I'll have the Plug n play ballast installed and Im just wondering how long it's taking everyone to Fill and then drain their complete ballast system (hard tanks and PnP bags) with the' 09-'12 3/4" PnP plumbing. I have Sumo 600V Sac for my rear PnP but just looking for some rough numbers from anyone. Thanks.

I have 750's in the rear and 950 in the bow. It takes around 8 to 10 minutes.

I have the same setup as gibbs114. It normally takes mine about 10 minutes or so. It used to take longer until i realized that my starboard locker drain hose was not laying as low as possible.

yeah. About 10 minutes for the rears, center tank 5, bow sack 8... approx.

If you can, Change out all your 3/4" hose to the bigger stuff that axis/malibu is using. It is a cheap upgrade and you already have the 1" holes in the Sumo sacs.

It will definately help when draining the rear sacks into the hard tanks, and I think it will help fill everything a little bit better. worth a shot since you will already be opening up everything... changing and cutting hoses will be simple.

That thought had alread crossed my mind, but then would I need to change all the 3/4" fittinngs? Like on the barbed elbow fittings on the hard tanks and those half-looped fittings? Or would you just have 1" to 3/4" reducers at each fitting?

I don't know, but here's what I would try to do.

Center 400 hard tank, leave it alone, it drains and fills just fine as is.

Front PNP, Sumo bow sack, 1" ID hoses and fittings at the bag (fill and drain only, the vent line can remain at 3/4"), then reduce it to connect to the 3/4" barbs on the starboard side thru hulls. If you can switch out the 1 or 2 thru hulls with 1" ID's without having to cut your fiberglass, then that would be the way to go. Then look at the connections to the fill pump and drain pump. You may have to settle on reducers/increasers, but maybe there is an adapter from the manufacturer.

Rears. You may have to run the 1" hose and leave everything else alone, using reducers to connect to the thru hulls and the fittings on the tanks. Not sure if you could switch out the tank elbows with 1" ID. If you can, then you will need to switch out 2 of them, the drain fitting and the fill fitting. The vent fitting can stay the same and doesn't need 1" hose. Again, look for adapters for your pumps to accept the 1" hose.

Please take pictures and let us know how it turns out. Depending on how you like it and what you find, it may be my next project.
