I just bought an 2010 A22 excited to be joining the axis family. I'm new to this PNP and have been reading a lot about it on this forum but would like personal opinions.
The PNP ballast that is in there are the 400 bags I was looking to upgrade to the 750's. As I understand it right now my ballast fills the hard tanks AFTER the sacs are full by gravity. I have read that people have replumb their PNP to pump into the hard tanks then the use the overfill for the sac's.
Which style is better in opinions hard tanks then sacs or sacs then hard tanks? Next question is does the pump have enough umph in it to pump the water after filling the hard against the water weight of the 750's and overcoming the gravity?

Personally I prefer the hard tanks to fill first. Then if I want to just fill a little to work on a new trick or if I have beginners out, I have some idea how much I have filled by waiting for the tanks to start overflowing into the bags. I have the 750lb bags but have not switched mine over yet as I've read on here the pumps aren't strong enough. I forget what thread it was in but there is a good idea about how to do it better with a little extra work.
Basically what you do is take the overflow hose from the tank and split it with a "Y" adapter. Then put a check valve on each of those 2 lines in opposite directions. The hose that flows away from the tank goes to the top of the bag. The hose that flows toward the tank goes to the bottom of the bag. And the other top port on the bag is your vent line out the side of the boat. Now when the tank overflows, it will fill the bag from the top and not have to fight the weight of all the water that is filling the bag. When you drain the tank, the water will flow out the bottom port of the bag back to the tank.
