I've painted lots of chrome or brushed finishes. I think painting with automotive paint is probably a better option

The motor was a little dirty when I took those other pics, so I had to wait till I cleaned it up a bit...

Annoying lately how many people come up to me saying they saw my boat from a distance and thought it was a Mastercraft X15.

Although, I suppose if you don't know boats very well it could be a logical assumption.
