Sorry for the noob question but I'm coming from a jet drive and am getting different advice. When I dock the A20, I'm coming in bow angled then reversing to bring the stern over (to starboard/right). I've had two people tell me two different things to bring the stern dockside. The first said to turn the wheel all the way to the left (away from the dock) then reverse and the other said to turn the wheel all the way to the right (towards the dock) then reverse. What's your preference?

I find mine will go to the right no matter which way you turn. Just nose in at an angle and then put in reverse and the rear will come around.

It doesn't matter which way your steering wheel is turned once you've gotten close and got your approach angle set to the dock. I usually try to approach with approx 30 degree angle then bump it into reverse at the last second to stop the boat and bring the stern to the dock. Although I'm usually all loaded up with gear and if I'm just picking up people I just back the platform directly up to the dock and my passengers just step on (if they are my regular crew, in the case of noobs I'll dock along side).

Whenever you are new to docking or having trouble first things first is do it slow! Do not let people make you nervous either with trying to rush you in! If you see this is a problem get a gun. LOL. Im kidding.
The boats pull to the right in reverse. I usually approach the dock and line starboard side to it. I keep my wheel turned to the left. I drive in with the bow pointing towards the dock and when I get close enough I turn all the way to the left. From this boat its all about forward and reverse to get you it.
I can dock the port (left) side also. You have to get a little bit more speed though because the boat will want to pull back away from the dock. When I do it this way my steering wheel is all the way to the right.
Hope this makes sense. Maybe someone will post a video or something one day to help.

The best advice I got when learning to dock the boat: don't go any faster than you are willing to hit the dock!
