I went to get the new tach at my dealer, and they said they were having an issue with the update throwing errors on engine start. Anyone hear of these issues?
That's an awesome idea for the old tach.

they still have an issue with the software between the pcm and the tach not communicating right, they are working on a flash update for it, it doesn't cause any problem just an annoying message beeping at you

Looks just like the original one, just different software to work better with the depth finder transducer

finally got mine replaced last week. the dealer I took it to, would not give me the old tach, so I do not have one to play with.

derekestivers:
I have the "issue" with my '11, but it only happens when you turn the key on, wait a little, and then start the engine. If you just turn the key and start it, it never gives an error message. My dealer said he can replace the tach, but it really isn't worth the 3 hour drive for me. Freaked me out when my brand new boat was flashing service engine the second or third time out though!
