Is a Tower Mirror Arm worth the extra money as a after market purchase. If so, which Mirror should be purchased with it or will the stock Windshield
mounted one work.

I can't imagine not having one. As far as what works, I can't help you there. . . .

I always recommend the Cipa vision 180 for a mirror. Can be purchased for a little as 30$ on amazon as the price fluctuates regularly. You need an adapter, as the mirror (CIPA or the more expensive PTM) use a ball mount and the tower arm is a post. Most people purchase a clip that functions as the adapter. It hangs the mirror from the post. IMO, this https://greatlakesskipper.com/mastercraft-black-solid-aluminum-marine-ski-boat-mirror-mount-knob is a much better option. The mirror mounts directly in-line with the post instead of hanging.

PTM Windsheild mount. Tower mounted mirrors are too high.

+1 for PTM 140 on a windshield mount. The tower mount was too high and blocked being able to hop in and out to the dock directly from the driver seat.

The only negative is losing the bottle opener on the bottom of the tower mount #FirstWorldProblems
