Depending on your engine you should be changing your oil and filter every 50 Hrs.

I was speaking the tech at the dealer. He stated he was at a Malibu training in Feb and PCM was there. The subject of oil came up with PCM and they told him Rotella T4 15w-40 was fine.

Just thought I'd share. I'm not saying to use it just passing along what I was told

Rotella is still approved depending on the oil requirements from your specific engine. For example, for my 2011 Axis AR335 5.7L, Indmar calls out "meets the API service CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4 and CF/SL." where C= Diesel engines and S = Gasoline engines. Obviously the 5.7L is not a diesel engine, however they call out diesel type oils. The new Rotella T4 with API CK-4 exceeds the oil performance of the previous gens which is specified by Indmar. To my understanding, the main concern between gas and diesel type oils, is the risk of damaging the catalytic converters. So check your engine Operator's Manual, and see which oil is called out.
