I would recommend ordering some hose and a couple fittings to put a vent line on your rear sacs. Otherwise you have to burp the air out of them and it's a pain.

I disconnected the rear hard tank vent line from the through hull fitting and capped it with the plug that originally came on my rear PnP fill lines. Then I ran a vent line from the extra fitting on the top of the bag to the through hull.

I would also recommend using a vent, but it is much easier to disconnect the vent line at the hard tanks, and just use it on the bags. Then just put a plug in the hole on top of the hard tank. This way you don't need an extra hose, at least mine was long enough to do it.

Get some stainless steel hose clamps from Lowes. They have a bag of them pretty cheap.

SweetLily,

If you need more storage but also want more ballast rip out those hard tanks. Then your wife will get what she wants and you will get what you want.

It's not hard to do and took me maybe 3 hours tops to pull them out. Plus now I can store wakeboards in the rear lockers when that wasn't an option before hand.

I honestly don't understand PNP. Just leave that area bare and allow people to plug in a sac of whatever size they want without a hardtank. Probably the best thing I've done to the boat and I wish I would have done it a lot sooner. Draining was always an issue for me, but this is a 2011 model not 15 year so you have larger diameter hose.

If you're tempting to do it, there is a thread somewhere here that had many people do this on the older models and I believe some newer ones have too. Just thought I would throw that out there for you.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I will be removing my hard tanks at the moment but maybe in the future.

My order has arrived and I am going to install the bags this weekend and I am planning on trying them out on Sunday. I am not 100% sure yet how to install the vent lines from the hard tanks. I have looked across the forum but haven't been able to find clear instructions. I am sure I could figure it out if I spent some time to look at it. But, I might wait to tackle this a little bit later.

I assume there is a vent on the hard tank on each side of the boat right? So I would just take the vent from the hard tank and plumb it to the extra top port of each bag? Honestly, I am not even sure how to access the hard tank, but then again I have never tried. Do you need any additional tubing/hardware to run the vent to the top of the bags? And how do you re-route it?

What about the front bag, I assume this doesn't need a vent, right?

Sorry for all of the questions.

I Y-ed my bag vent into the hard tank vent... much easier.

Front bag needs vented.

Search my threads, I posted pics and what's needed to y into rear hard tank vents.

Front bag should have came standard with a vent line so you just hook up all 3 lines to bag.
