If you can't get it down buy a new f150 with pro
Trailer backup assist, old pros with trailers don't do it as well as less experienced trailer folk who get it on the first try, at least at the boat launch or open parking spaces in the videos .
Other than that one inch at a time and getting out of cab to reassure clearance eventually as others said gives you all the experience you need cause you'll start using markers you have success with
