Safety switch, but not sure why you wouldn't have noticed. My kid likes sitting under the dash (out of the wind under the heater) and pulled it once.

I've had the boat stop very suddenly when I hit a sandbar too.

But never had it do what you're describing. I assume you checked the prop and there wasn't a rope around it.

If the safety switch was hit, or switched off, then I wouldn't be able to start the engine, correct? I'm almost 100% sure that I didn't hit that switch, and I was able to start the engine back up and let it idle. The engine quits when I put the boat in forward or reverse.

Yes I checked the prop and there is nothing wrapped around it.

My boat's a few years older and it won't start if the safety switch has been pulled. It only turns over. I would say you @gtoddh are correct by ruling out that possibility unless they changed the functions of the switch, which I highly doubt.

Has Anyone else received this in the mail? Apparently there could be a problem with some losing V-Drive oil. My dealer had no idea until I showed them. Let me know if anyone needs to see more.

Zoom in to read.

Update: My boat was affected by this issue. The v-drive seized up. It was replaced under warranty with no cost to me. I'm glad it happened in November and not August. I haven't had the boat out since I got it back but the dealership said they water tested it and everything is good.

I can't wait for a warm day so I can get out on the water!
