It would be nice to find out who that outside manufacturer is and see if they would sell the support arm only at a reasonable price. Even better if they could make them in white. But I'm going to assume it's some big factory in China pumping these things out.

Likely malibu owns the tooling so they won't sell to anyone else..

When I originally spoke to the dealer when this first happened they gave me the name of the supposed manufacturer but I cant remember the name of them for the life of me. At the time I tried to contact them several times and sent emails and got no response. I just chalked it up to them not wanting to do business directly with individual boat owners and only deal with a dealer/manufacturer. At that time I stopped pursing finding a fix. Now that I see there are others with this problem and its likely a defect I would like to pursue this a little more.

I deal with a couple of companies that provide product for boat companies direct. normally they will not sell those items to us because of the manufacturer agreements they have in place.

If enough of these are breaking allowing them to deal direct would give Malibu an easy way to pass the buck and not have to deal with it. Not sure how wide spread this issue is. I have seen three that have cracked in the exact same way.

It would also make them lose out on money. And likely malibu buys these in the thousands and buying 1 would be super expensive.

Since you can only buy it with the windshield already attached buying one is already really expensive.
